Step 3
Community Outreach

This is where the neighborhood partnership reaches out beyond the school and into its surrounding neighborhood. When partnerships get to know the community and its neighbors, needs become more apparent. Community Outreach gives the opportunity to empower the residents, highlight the assets and build relationships in the community.
ENP engages in three aspects of community outreach:
Relational Empowerment
This includes coordinating events that focus on the emotional and personal needs of the community, such as:
- community meeting
- English classes
- financial workshop
- home ownership workshop
- neighborhood watch meetings
- cooking/nutrition classes
- reading program
Service Specific Outreach
Meeting the physical needs of families for the sole purpose of letting them know that people care. When the partnering church identifies a need in the neighborhood, ENP can come along side to help accomplish the goal.
ENP can help coordinate projects such as:
- street clean-up
- simple home repair
- smoke detector installation
- yard work assistance
- serve day events
- sports camps
Special Events
ENP can help facilitate special events and activities for the entire community such as:
- community fair
- spring break camp
- block party
- mission Christmas
- Movie Night
- Bike Repair
