Parternship Leaders Gather

This past weekend ENP Partnership Leaders gathered for a meal and training for the upcoming school year.  Saturday Sports safety, mentoring and blogging were some of the topics discussed.  The highlight, however was the ability to hear the great things going on in each of the neighborhoods and the ability for the leaders to network with others who have the same vision for our city.  It was a GREAT evening and all are looking forward to a full and exciting year ahead.

Summer Program a Great Success

Three evenings each week for the past two months have been spent with the kids in the Susan B Anthony Neigborhood.  The summer program took place at Ted C Wills and included a variety of activities such as art, sports, martial arts and gymnastics. The kids had fun with bubbles, and books, and colors and most of all just enjoyed hanging out with people who care about them.  This was a great program for the kids to stay busy during the summer and at the same time were able to stay…

Great Block Party in West Fresno

Many volunteers worked hard in the planning and preparation of this great block party on Saturday, July 17th.  Great food, fantastic music, a bounce house for the kids and a lot of reasons for the neighbors to feel cared for.    Apostolic Revival Center has partnered with West Fresno Elementary and their commitment and dedication to the people in this neighborhood is very evident.  We look forward to seeing the results of their ongoing partnership with the families who live…

New Harvest/R.O.C.C. Serve Day

More than 250 people from New Harvest and R.O.C.C. spent the day working on projects in the Webster neighborhood, at Valley Teen Ranch, Poverello House and with Fresno Street Saints. Many were blessed by their service throughout our city. Most of the teams spent the day in the Webster neighborhood doing street clean-up, curb address number painting, and a few home repair projects.  One team did an amazing job in the yard of an elderly widow who was truly blessed by the love she received in…

Hidalgo Community Center = Neighborhood Presence

The kids near Hidalgo Elementary see the renovated building in the neighborhood as a place for them! This is Neighborhood Presence at it's best, with room for the kids to play, study, hang out and spend time with people who are investing in their lives. Last week they held a 3 Day Bible Club.  The week before they had Asian Food Night . . . a great beginning for a place that is already a shinning light in the neighborhood.       BEFORE PHOTO

Central Reading Program - Roof Project

This past weekend volunteers put a new roof on this Community Center in the Teague Neighborhood that will soon be filled with lots of children.  This double wide trailer is set up with several classrooms filled with lots of books and supplies that will be needed beginning this week when they expect to have about 50 kids attending the summer school program.  This is a place they can learn and spend time, and best of all, they know the people there care about them.  Central…

Ending the School Year with FUN!

For several ENP partnerships, this past weekend was the last day of Saturday Sports for this school year, and two words that best desribe the day are "FUN" and "WET".  The day warmed up just enough for the kids to appreciate a few games that included water, but overall it was all about having a good time!  It's exciting to see so many of the same faces each week!  These kids know that when they come to Saturday Sports, they are going to have a good time, be around people who think…

Celebration at Pastor Jack's

One evening several weeks ago about 30 people from a life group at The Well went to Pastor Jack's to do some work at his place: they installed new roofing, a few cabinets and replaced a couple doors. He was very thankful to everyone that helped out and wanted to say thank you!  So he invited them all over, with their families, for an amazing mexican dinner, and a mariachi band was included!!!  It was great to spend time with Pastor Jack and his wife and the guys who live at…

Volunteering with ENP

Each Saturday there are between 10 and 20 Saturday Sports Programs going on at elementary school campuses throughout Fresno.  Poverello House faithfully prepares breakfast burritos and sack lunches for all the children who attend (600 on an average week).  ENP volunteers pick up the food at Poverello House and deliver them to the various sites.  It takes about 6 volunteers each week to make these deliveries. Most people who volunteer with ENP projects, volunteer through…
