Neighborhood Project in Downtown Fresno

On Wednesday, March 24th a life group spent their evening working on a project in downtown Fresno, and they brought a lot of their friends with them.  It's amazing what a group of people can accomplish in a few hours, and the amount of conversation and fellowship that can take place while blessing a family who is making a difference in a broken neighborhood. Projects like this are just one aspect of Community Outreach - where a partnership church reaches out into the neighborhood to meet a…

West Fresno Kids Visit Local Recycling Center

On this beautiful Saturday in March the kids at West Fresno's Saturday Sports went on a "field trip" and walked a few blocks for a tour of the local Recyling Center.  It was very educational for them to see where those trucks take all the trash from our blue recycling cans, and then what they do with it after that.  A great group of volunteers went along and were able to enjoy the tour along with the kids.  Pretty sure everyone will think about garbage a little differently…

Busy Day at Addams Elementary

Family Joy and Northwest churches hosted their weekly Saturday Sports outreach this past weekend at Addams Elementary, but there was a little more "buzz" going on due to a distribution of First 5 Fresno donations to ENP. Volunteers from both churches organized several stations where families who had children ages 5 years and younger could receive diapers, coats and a bag of nonperishable food. Approximately 47 families were blessed.  This is the kind of outreach that strenthens…

ENP Equipping Event

ENP hosted an equipping event on the evening of March 12 with Don Simmons.  ENP partnership leaders were invited to attend and it was AMAZE-ing! When you come to an event like this and the tables are filled with paper and colored markers, you know it's going to be interesting - and it was! Leaders talked, worked together, brainstormed, drew pictures, and thought through what works and what doesn't.  When people left, they took with them a lot of great infomation that they will…

Mission of Love - A Huge Success

More than 200 people from Clovis Hills and El Encino spent the weekend serving the neighborhood surrounding Sequoia Middle School. Saturday started out a little wet but God stopped the rain just long enough for the work to be done! Some people dressed for the weather, others got very creative! (Who know you could do so much with garbage bags?)  Calwa Elementary was "beautified" with 300 new plants and students from the school were able to help with the project.  The doors at El Encino…
