On Monday, January 25th, the Target Neighborhood team from The Well Community Church held the second community meeting for families in the Susan B Anthony neighborhood. The team provided dinner for the guests at the Ted C. Wills Community Center and the meeting followed.

While many kids were enjoying the first few days of their Christmas vacation, a group of students from Sunnyside High School spent some time giving a special gift to a Fresno family! Marcel and a team of men from Westside Church of God spent the better part of a week working on a home to make it more livable for a family in the Sunset neighborhood. They raised the floor, poured a new foundation and replaced an entire exterior wall. This was NOT a minor repair job. Last year, a life group from The Well began working on this home. This past week, two life groups had the opportunity to work on garages in two different neighborhoods, helping create a place for kids.
A garage in the Susan B Anthony neighborhood will become and an activity center for the kids who live nearby and already enjoy hanging out there. The relationships they are building are valuable! Fresno’s Convoy of Hope on Saturday, November 7 was a huge success. Northpointe Church spearheaded a huge effort in getting more than 70 churches involved to serve over 10,000 guests.
Here are some of the statistics from the day:
Nearly 2,500 volunteers, more than 70 churches and 65 local organizations participated.
They distribute 160,000 pounds of food, conducted medical and dental screenings, gave haircuts, took family portraits and repaired bicycles.

On Saturday, October 31st we organized a Harvest Carnival and had close to 100 kids show up along with their families. We had face painting, crafts and played some great games in which kids were able to win prizes. Quite a few kids came dressed up. Overall it was was a huge success and we are definitely going to do this again next year!

On Saturday, September 26th, over 60 people from The Well, Fresno Pacific and Sunnyside High School came out to serve in the community and get to know their neighbors. We saw more than 100 kids at Saturday Sports that morning! That’s a ton of new faces that were able to get connected with our Saturday Sports team! On Monday morning, August 20th, Northpointe Church rewarded the students and staff of West Fresno Elementary School with chocolate muffins for showing a 100 point improvement in their test scores.Principal Ayala said he would shave off all his hair if they broke the 700 point mark this year.We’ll keep you posted on how that turns out at the end of the school year!

On Wednesday, August 5th The Well, in partnership with Bank on Fresno, hosted a Financial Education class for the community.Wells Fargo Bank provided the educational piece and The Well’s ministry team provided a meal and child activities for the kids.Everyone involved had a great time and the families that attended really appreciated the information.If your partnership church would like to host a similar event please contact Artie Padilla at 559-250-6860.
