On Monday, January 25th, the Target Neighborhood team from The Well Community Church held the second community meeting for families in the Susan B Anthony neighborhood. The team provided dinner for the guests at the Ted C. Wills Community Center and the meeting followed.
The neighbors created the agenda based on concerns they shared at the previous meeting. Speakers were invited to attend, talk to the neighbors and answer questions. Representatives from the Fresno Police Department and S.P.C.A. were there and the conversation was very posibive and productive.
Hopefully these meetings will create a culture where the neighbors can get to know each other and begin to band together. Even in sharing a meal together, they became better acquainted with each other and the team of volunteers from The Well. The ultimate goal is for leaders to rise up in the community and begin running these meetings themselves. It was exciting to see the attendance double and look forward to see what the attendance will be in March!
