Several organizations joined forces for a fun-filled day in the Hidalgo Neighborhood on Saturday. "World Impact", "Bringing Broken Neighborhoods Back to Life", "Central Fresno Weed & Seed" and "Every Neighborhood Partnership" came together to encourage families to come out and enjoy the day with their neighbors. You could see people enjoying some great food, kids getting their faces painted and bouncing in the bounce house, others were making t-shirts, and folks chatting with the police chief.

This was also a great opportunity to let people know about a valuable resource in their neighborhood. The World Impact Community Center in the Hidalgo Neighborhood has an after school program, computer lab, Bible studies, a Family Resource Center and recreation times for the kids. The Block Party ended at two o'clock . . . but the Community Center is there for the neighborhood every day, and now more people know about it!
Besides being a lot of fun, events like this send a message of hope and change, and that a lot of people care about this neighborhood.
. . . it's a good message!
