There were more kids at Saturday Sports, more volunteers playing with the kids, and about 150 other volunteers from Northwest Church working on projects on the Addams Elementary campus as well as in the surrounding neighborhood.
This was Northwest's 2nd Serve Saturday of the year and it was another great day for the community!
Volunteers cleaned classrooms, worked on gifts and notes for the staff, and painted some number lines on the playground. Projects were also going on at a couple nearby mobile home parks, helping residents who needed assistance.
The mornning ended with a carnival which included a petting zoo, face painting, a fire truck, a UPS truck, and hot dog lunch for everyone.
Northwest's presence in the Addams Neighborhood is active and growing, and the relationships they are establishing will have an impact for years to come.
