Multiplying Our Gifts

A few guys playing flag football on a Saturday morning turned into something pretty awesome!

In late fall, Justin & Brett decided to send out a Facebook invite and mass text message to a bunch of their friends and invite them to play a game of flag football at Buchanan High School on a Saturday morning. They decided to add a charitable component to the game and invited each guy there to contribute a one time donation for a special end of the year project. They decided to collect money to go towards Christmas gift bags for each of the kids at Susan B Anthony. Justin also invited his Friday morning life group to participate. They purchased gloves, hats, pencils, candy and then made a call to a couple of dentists from church who gladly donated a toothbrush to put in each of the 500 bags!

The decorated bags were packed on a Saturday morning by a group of the guys, then loaded into cars and delivered to the school in time to be given to each of the children following their school holiday program. What a great way to make a bunch of kids feel special!

They even had money left over, so decided to put together some "Care Packages" that included; hand soap, dish soap, bars of soap, toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, shavers, tooth brushes, tooth paste and laundry detergent, which were delivered to some Fresno families right before Christmas.

In a note Justin sent out to everyone who participated he said, "Thank you to all who helped make this special Christmas Project a huge success. The Lord will multiply our gifts and resources if we just allow Him to use what little we have."

Well said, Justin!

Stories like this could be written about great things that took place throughout Fresno during this past Christmas season! Little Manny wanted to give cookies and hot cocoa to the homeless people and managed to get his mom's facebook friends to contribute HUNDREDS of cookies that he could share.  It even made the news!  Many churches passed out food baskets to the familes in their partnership neighborhoods.  Wouldn't it be great to hear about all all those stories?

If you have a story, please send us an email!  We would love to share it!

swiss: Leaving a critical coemmnt is totally cool, but please don't do it anonymously. That's just lame. Also, my coemmnt regarding not being able to download images: Yes, I know about looking at the source code, but you know what, there are THOUSANDS of wonderful bloggers out there that don't. When you run an e-commerce site you need to make it easy for people to grab images. This has been a long time gripe I am having with e-commerce sites. I used to criticize MoMAstore.org, because it was impossible to download a photo of their products. They have since updated their site and its fantastic! Also, I keep blogging about their products way more.

You were allowed to visit them?Friend of mine wanted to buy one of their most expensive products, but wasn’t allowed to visit them and take a look before buying – although he lives 2 blocks away. He had to order through the website and pay for shipment (remember, it would have taken him 5 minutes to grab his stuff), which took quite a while. As it turns out he didn’t like the bag too much (stunning leather quality, but the bag just didn’t suit his needs) and had to, you guessed it, send it back using the Austrian postal service. That’s the customer service I expect from a company that’s selling products worth half a month’s income … viagra acyclovir

well, i applied for a job and had the interview there..that sounds quite unnecessarily complicated. though, if i’m not mistaken, i think they had a check-out option “pick up yourself” a while ago… maybe in future they will allow local customers to view products before purchase… viagra levitra online

The folks at Hardgraft are worth following on Instagr.am and twitter for great photos and new products as well. I have no relationship with the company but I’m a huge fan of their products. Functionality and beautiful, sensually pleasing materials in each product. viagra acyclovir
