ENP has had the priviledge of seeing over 300 Fresno State students serve our schools and students through ENP Classroom Volunteering and Saturday Sports programs. We think that's a win for both ENP and Fresno State!
Students from the Dietetic Department are utilizing the knowledge they are gaining in the classroom out at Saturday Sports. For the past year, they have served our students in 15 different Saturday Sports programs through physical fitness activities and nutritional education. In this next year, ENP is ready to move into an even more intentional relationship with these spectacular students by working with them to bring nutitional workshops to parents in two select neighborhoods. Additionally, together, we would like to work with local community gardens to help educate the community on everything from "field to fork". S-C-O-R-E!
In addition to the Dietetic Department, ENP has been blessed by several Communications and Sociology students giving their time to our programs. Students from Fresno State's Criminology Class supported over 45 students at Mayfair Elementary and Tehipite Middle Schools through Classroom Volunteering. And, the women's athletic teams have shown up to our Saturday Sports programs in droves! We have been honored by the service of women from the Lacross, Softball, Soccer, Tennis, Golf, Equestrian and Track and Field teams. Way to go, women!
I would say that these are not your ordinary college students! It's an honor to serve the schools and kids of our community with you; let's go score some more points in this next year!
