This past week, two life groups had the opportunity to work on garages in two different neighborhoods, helping create a place for kids.
A garage in the Susan B Anthony neighborhood will become and an activity center for the kids who live nearby and already enjoy hanging out there. The relationships they are building are valuable! Kids have role models to look up to and a safe place to spend their time. In the Powers-Ginsburg neighborhood the garage will be used primarily for a reading program, but the possibilities are vast.
Whether used for reading programs, games or just to hang out, this is Neighborhood Presence; people living in the neighborhood where they serve and being a part of the community in a very meaningful and intentional way.
