On this beautiful Saturday in March the kids at West Fresno's Saturday Sports went on a "field trip" and walked a few blocks for a tour of the local Recyling Center. It was very educational for them to see where those trucks take all the trash from our blue recycling cans, and then what they do with it after that. A great group of volunteers went along and were able to enjoy the tour along with the kids. Pretty sure everyone will think about garbage a little differently from now on, and be more careful WHAT they put in those cans! What a good oportuntiy for the kids to see people working hard at a job that may not be so glamorous, but one that is so important.
While the kids were enjoying the morning, back at the school parents were able to visit the Neighborhood Resource Center. The "NRC" is available once a month to help families find anwers to questions they have regarding housing, health, jobs and more. There are even people there to help them write a job resumé! The families in this neighborhood know these people care about them AND their kids!! What a great group of volunteers! What a blessing!
