On Wednesday, March 24th a life group spent their evening working on a project in downtown Fresno, and they brought a lot of their friends with them. It's amazing what a group of people can accomplish in a few hours, and the amount of conversation and fellowship that can take place while blessing a family who is making a difference in a broken neighborhood.
Projects like this are just one aspect of Community Outreach - where a partnership church reaches out into the neighborhood to meet a need, and builds relationships in the process!
So many people are responsible for making projects like this happen, and ENP could not do it without each one of them! Most obvious are the volunteers who actually do the work. On this project, more than 30 people spent about 4 hours doing roofing, installing new doors, sinks and cabinets, and most of them would tell you that they received much more than they gave!
Then there are the donations from local businesses. For this project RSG Roofing Supply donated materials, and Integrity Roofing was there to offer guidance and expertise to help make sure the job was done right.
Finally, we need to recognize the people that donate directly to Every Neighborhood Partnership. ENP is a 501c3 non-profit organization that exists because people believe in the value of connecting churches with neighborhoods, connecting mentors with kids, connecting volunteers with classrooms, and in the process empowering people to reach their potential. It's through this "people building", that homes become a healthy neighborhood, communities support their schools and the future of our youth begins to look a little brighter.
A project like this can have a value of $10,000 - $20,000. ENP did this project for less than $1000. That just shows that the value of each dollar donated to ENP is a great investment!
Projects like this one take place throughout the year. Needs are discovered by people from a partnership church spending time in the neighborhood and seeing a need. ENP helps them organize the project, gather materials and coordinate the project, making in doable!
. . . and in the process, so many are blessed!
