It was a full weekend with lots of great things going on throughout Fresno.
Good Shepherd Lutheran held the first Saturday Sports at Roeding Elementary with a great group of kids that will surely be back again. The team from Good Shepherd made some new friends this week and we look forward to the seeing the relationships grow. As an added treat, health and nutrution activities were offered by Fresno State students who have been doing a fantastic job providing games that involve learning about eating right and living a healthier life! The kids from Roeding Elementary will no doubt tell their friends how much fun they had . . . and they will be back again next week for more!
In downtown Fresno, a team worked on some renovations for an office that will be the home of Stewards Inc, an organization that "seeks to enhance the well-being and security of individuals who are unable to manage their ovn personal finances through the provision of appropriate mangement of their income." They hope to open soon near Community Regional Medical Center, and the help from these men was GREATLY appreciated!

And . . . at a warehouse in southwest Fresno, about 40 people spent the day Saturday, assembling bikes for 64 kids at Susan B Anthony Elementary. The kids earned them by accumulating points for Service, Character and Academics. At an assembly on Wednesday morning, the students will recieve their NEW bike, a new helmet and a lock. It will be an exciting day . . . and even more exciting for the 3rd graders who will get the opportunity to earn their bike next year! To learn more about Off the Front, visit their website!
