Fall at Pyle

Saturday Sports is off to a great start this fall semester at Ernie Pyle Elementary!  After a back-to-school carnival in August, kids and volunteers alike were ready to break out those soccer balls and board games.  At the carnival, students and families enjoyed free hot dogs, snow cones, face painting and bounce houses, and also had the opportunity to purchase backpacks filled with supplies for just $3 a piece. The Invisible Reason

A few weeks ago we had a team come out from Fresno State to play some games with our kids.  It was so exciting to see new games and new ways to engage the kids and to have fun, but that wasn't the thing that stood out in my memory from that Saturday.  What I remember most is one kid who was not having any fun.  He had been poked in the eye by his brother and was trying not to cry when I walked up to him.  He wouldn't look at me because he was tearing up.  He yelled at me…

Pumped At Pyle

We are really pumped up over here at Pyle.  So many awesome things are either happening or just about to start.  We were averaging about 25 kids each Saturday last year, and this year we've been having any where from 30 to 40; we actually had 55 one Saturday not to far back.  That's more little brains to fill with Jesus juice, which is ridiculously exciting, but that's not all.
