Serve By Faith

Faith

Serving on a mission can be uncomfortable and at the same time the most incredible experience ever. I’ve had the privilege of being on many mission encounters with God and every time it’s a journey of self discovery as well as being in the presence of God in unexpected ways. As you can imagine this can happen while feeding the hungry; comforting those in pain; holding an orphan; etc. And it can happen while crossing cultures in our own backyard and engaging with people we normally would not hang out with. Sometimes this can cause anxiety in our hearts even more than if we considered going overseas.

Can you relate?

Stepping outside your comfort zone is a phrase often used especially as it pertains to serving on mission. And although it can have the implication of being a painful scary experience…it really doesn’t have to be. Yes, sometimes God does ask one to do something scary for the cause of the Gospel. But often it can be as simple as hanging out with people that are different than us; people we don’t know…yet. God wants us to enter into relationships with strangers for the purpose of telling them about Jesus. So, let’s do it together as the church and “just show up” and watch God work in and through us!

Can you serve by faith?

Join us as a church on mission in the SE Neighborhood for the Mission Of Love…see you there!
