We just concluded our Summer Program at Ted C. Wills and it was awesome! Three evenings of the week for the past two months has been spent doing art with the kids, playing sports, teaching martial arts and gymnastics. We had fun with bubbles and books and colors and many other great activities. (I think the volunteers might have had more fun than the kids!)

The Well was humbled to accept an award from Hands on Central California recognizing them as the "Volunteer Organization of the Year". What made this award so special is that we were nominated by the staff at Susan B. Anthony! It was so wonderful to hear how much the staff and teachers at Susan B appreciate our presence on campus and off. On Sunday April 18th, The Well Community Church cancelled all services and instead met together to serve in the Susan B Anthony neighborhood. Teams went out to clean the streets, mow lawns and join the members of the Susan B Community to invest in the neighborhood together. On Monday, January 25th, we held our second community meeting for the neighbors that live around Susan B Anthony School at the Ted C. Wills Community Center. The neighbors created the agenda for the meeting based on topics they wanted to see addressed. Using the concerns they brought up as a guideline, we were able to bring in speakers to discuss those issues. Representatives from the Fresno Police Department presented along with the S.P.C.A.
