Play, presence, and purpose

In too many neighborhoods, kids face real barriers—limited access to green space, weekend hunger, and few safe, structured activities close to home.

Sábado Sports is changing that.

This two-hour, volunteer-driven program creates consistent, joyful spaces where children are seen, supported, and strengthened—right on their own school campuses.

By combining active play, mentorship, and a shared meal, Sábado Sports offers more than just a good time. It’s a grassroots response to poverty, food insecurity, and disconnection.

What Sábado Sports Offers

Hosted by local churches in partnership with schools, each Sábado site creates a vibrant hub of life and possibility. Students experience:

Open green space to run, play, and simply be kids.

A short Bible story or character-building talk.

Fun and meaningful activities like sports, crafts, and games.

A free, nutritious lunch—no child goes hungry.

Encouragement and mentorship from consistent, caring adults.

Powered by Churches, Supported by ENP

ENP equips churches to launch and sustain Sábado Sports with confidence by providing:

Training, equipment, and guidance every step of the way.

Liability insurance and a connection to the local school.

A growing network of volunteers and partners from Fresno State, Fresno Pacific, city departments, and community-based organizations.

Together, we’re building something bigger than a Sábado program—we’re building a movement of hope, health, and neighborhood transformation.
