Opportunities to work for ENP as a college student
ENP Reads Work Study
ENP Reads work study works directly with elementary schools and community organizations in Fresno to run literacy intervention programs for grades K-6. Positions with ENP Reads work study are held for the academic year. There are ongoing training sessions held throughout the semester, covering topics such as trauma-informed educational practices and recreation resilience.
Benefits: ENP Reads work study is now recruiting qualified students for the 2023-24 academic year to serve as mentors. If you qualify, you could earn up to $17.00 per hour. Mentors work approximately 10-15 hours per week, based on work-study eligibility.
Eligibility:
- You must be a current Fresno State student and eligible for Federal Work-Study.
- The average commitment is 2.5 hours of time between the school hours of 8:30-2:30, or 2:00-5:30 two days per week, for about 10-15 hours/week.

ENP Reads College Corps
Fresno State has selected Every Neighborhood Partnership as one of the organizations their College Corps students will work with. Through a new State initiative, Every Neighborhood Partnership will host 50 Fresno State and Fresno City students (in addition to 40 Read Fresno students) who will serve as literacy mentors in classrooms, run after-school reading intervention programs, and support Saturday Sports at eight local K-6 schools.
College Corps is currently accepting applications for 2023-24 Fellows.
Benefits:
Students who complete the College Corps program will receive:
- A living allowance paid monthly throughout the service term, plus an Education Award earned upon completion of 450 service hours. Total financial benefit up to $10,000.
- Academic credit through participation in a course that will meet on Fridays from 3:00 – 4:50 PM
- A real-world job experience and skills to add to your resume
- Access to training, networking, and professional development opportunities
- Connections with Fellows across the state via a virtual community platform and in-person regional events
- A sense of pride and accomplishment in working toward a common purpose alongside young leaders from across the state.
Eligibility:
- Have a high school diploma or its equivalent (i.e., GED) by the beginning of the 2023-2024 academic year
- Enrolled full-time, undergraduate student attending Fresno City College or Fresno State for both fall 2023 and spring 2024
- Currently be in good academic standing and remain so throughout the academic year; minimum GPA: 2.0
- Commit to actively participate in the program and to maintain full-time enrollment status for the entire academic year—August 1, 2023 – May 17, 2024
- Not planning to participate in a semester off-campus (ex. Study Abroad) during the upcoming academic year
- Availability to complete 12-20 hours per week

Scholars in Service
The Scholars in Service (SIS) Program launched in the fall of 2012. This program provides eligible students with an opportunity to enhance their academic study with community service experiences related to their academic major and/or prospective career. This program is administered by the Jan & Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service-Learning.
The average commitment is 2.5 hours of time between the school hours of 8:00-2:35 or 3-5:30, for about 10-15 hours/week. Students serve in the areas of Literacy Mentoring, Saturday Sports, Read Fresno After School, and sometimes Communications/Social Media or Neighborhood Work as interests and abilities align.
Benefits: If selected for the program, students must complete 90 hours of service per semester with an approved service site and will earn a $1,200 grant each semester.
Eligibility:
- Must be a current Fresno State student with a 3.5 GPA or above
- Have an unmet financial aid need of at least $2,400,
- Demonstrate the learning they gain from a community service experience through a credit-bearing course.
