Imagine what our city could look like if every church became this deeply engaged in a Fresno neighborhood!
Neighborhood Church is a group of people – a body of believers – who are now meeting weekly at Jackson Elementary with a vision of getting “entangled” in this neighborhood in very intentional ways.
They have a presence on the school campus during the week, volunteering in classrooms, and getting to know the staff. They, along with Trinity Community Church host Saturday Sports on campus twice a month, and Jackson Elementary is their “church building” on Sundays.
Joe White, pastor of Neighborhood Church said people often ask, ” When do you plan to buy a building for your church.” His response: “I’m more interested in Building a Neighborhood than building a building.”
Their goal is to get “entangled” in the neighborhood and in the lives of the children and families, in the school and staff. It’s a beautiful picture of what it means to love your neighbor(hood).
May we ALL be inspired to Get Entangled!
