Day of the Teacher is the first week of May this year, but any day is a great day to make a teacher knows you appreciate them! Here are some way you might consider blessing the staff throughout the year.
TREATS FOR THE STAFF
One church hosts a monthly breakfast for the staff with Starbucks coffee and bagels, muffins or donuts. They mix it up and do something different every time.
Maybe you have folks at your church who like to bake. Invite them to use their culinary gifts to be a blessing to some hard working teachers.
Another church took cakes and goodies to a staff meeting – and you can imagine how something so simple would make a staff meeting a whole lot more fun!
BEAUTIFY THEIR SCHOOL
Campus beautification projects are another way to show the school how much you value them. It’s a great way to get entire families from the church involved! Ask if you can give their staff lounge a “make-over” by adding flowers, notes to the tables and a batch of homemade goodies, too!
CONSIDER BRINGING IN LUNCH OR HOSTING A BBQ
Find out what days the staff reports to school and the kids don’t. Those are usually great days to bless the staff. They may actually have time to sit down to eat without the kids on campus, and it will also give you an opportunity to spend some time getting to know the teachers. Invite people from your church to make food and serve. It gives them an opportunity to be a part of your ministry, visit the school, and meet the teachers.
You may even want to collect $5 Starbucks gift cards to give to the staff. Check out other ideas on our Pinterest page here.
These gestures from your partnership let them know that you care about them and appreciate the investment they are making in children.
There are so many things you can do. Just let your imagination (and Pinterest) be your guide. Or feel free to give us a call . . . we would love to help you brainstorm.
