It is said that if you want to go fast, go alone. And that if you want to go far, go together. The Central California Food Bank reached out to ENP and other partners to distribute a big shipment of diapers. ENP received 6 pallets, which was 412 cases, for a total of 16,480 diapers! That is a lot of diapers! How would we go about distributing 16,480 pampers?
We decided to lean on the experts in the community: those that live and are active in their community. ENP partnered with 7 resident leaders from both Southeast and Southwest Fresno to distribute the diapers. Each resident partner was tasked with networking within their neighborhood to locate and register parents for diaper distribution. Each resident partner also took on the task of distributing the diapers as their homes became temporary neighborhood pamper hubs. Resident leaders voluntarily and with joy fulfilled these tasks and one leader was able to distribute 121 cases (4,840 diapers) to families with babies!
The diaper distribution proved once again to those in our community and to ENP that the way of together, without a doubt, is a much further reaching journey than the way of alone.
