What a Year!! 🎉🙌 ENP’s 2024 Recap

At Every Neighborhood Partnership (ENP), our mission is clear: Activate. Equip. Mobilize. Transform. We work tirelessly to see students excel, community members thrive in health and wholeness, and our neighborhoods flourish. As we reflect on 2024, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible strides made this year, thanks to our dedicated team, committed partners, and resilient community members.

ENP General Updates

This year has been nothing short of amazing.

We moved to our new building! This is a space designed not just for our team but also for our partners! By sharing this space for others to hold events, develop ideas, and connect with their teams and communities, we are fostering collective progress. Each gathering here advances Fresno’s transformation by equipping organizations to tackle challenges and drive meaningful change in their neighborhoods.

Early this year, we also launched a new Drive Tour! Years of coordination and planning led to the development of a new West and Central Fresno Drive Tour, an immersive audio learning experience designed to connect individuals, churches, businesses, families, and other nonprofits with our city like never before.

ENP welcomed several new team members! This year, we also hired incredible new staff members with a heart to serve and uplift our kids, families, and community members: Alejandra Santos Flores our Bookkeeper/Admin Assistant, Jonathan Hernandez, Extended Learning Coordinator, Johnny Hernandez Saturday Sports Coordinator, and Angelica Platas Program Assistant. We also hired School Support aides, Natalia Martinez, Jonah Enciso, and Emily Avila, to launch our programs!

School Support: Empowering Students and Leaders

In 2024, we served 27 schools with our Literacy Mentoring, After-School, and Saturday Sports programs between the spring and fall semesters, impacting nearly 1,200 students across Fresno. Here are a few key highlights:

College Student Leadership: With 21 student leaders leading teams on school sites, we witnessed incredible growth in their confidence and leadership skills. One student, initially shy and nervous, grew into a confident leader, guiding her team through decision-making and problem-solving to create success for kids.

Increased Church Engagement: We reached out to 36 local churches to re-engage them in supporting our school campuses post-COVID. Today, 17 of our 22 school sites have active church or faith-led partnerships, bringing invaluable resources, relationships, and long-term commitment. Butler Church’s decade-long partnership with Ayer Elementary is a testament to the enduring impact of these collaborations. And now, at Olmos Elementary, the kids eagerly anticipate Saturday Sports aka “Church Saturday” each month, demonstrating the joy and connection these partnerships foster.

After-School Literacy Growth: The Edison Region saw the impressive results of our Read Fresno After School program and invited us to collaborate. Together, we co-created a literacy intervention model using Science of Reading methods, focusing on aligning after-school learning with daytime curriculum. This innovative approach is already making a difference for students.

Neighborhood Development: Building Thriving Communities

Our Neighborhood Development team has continued to empower residents and foster community connections:

Community Schools: ENP supported Fresno Unified’s Community Schools initiative by inviting the first five schools to our Community Engagement Trainings in the spring. By fall, 14 schools had hired Community Schools Coordinators, and ENP is actively partnering with seven: Heaton, Addams, Columbia, King, Kirk, Lincoln, and Gaston Middle School.

Parent Engagement:

  • Coffee Hour at Olmos Elementary: Now in its third year, this program has a consistent group of 14 parents who connect regularly to build community and share insights.
  • Dance Fitness: Participation grew from 82 participants across two sites to an incredible 154 participants at Olmos Elementary alone. These sessions provide not only fitness but also a sense of joy and belonging.

Community Land Use Academy (CLUA)!

  • Three sessions this year equipped residents with tools to influence local land use decisions.
  • CLUA Para Nosotros (two cohorts): The first was conducted entirely in Spanish, while the second included English interpretation, breaking down language barriers and fostering solidarity.
  • A total of 48 participants graduated, ready to advocate for their neighborhoods.
