How Can You Love Your Neighbor During These COVID-19 Times?

We are in the midst of unprecedented times. COVID-19 and the potential impact on our city, state, country, and the world is rising in awareness as well as the importance social distancing and other efforts to flatten the curve.

ENP is continually monitoring the situation and wanted to let you know how we can love our neighbors and especially those on the margins.

Word of Warning: Take the precations you feel you need to take. We are not medical professionals, but rather trying to give you options and ways to show Jesus like compassion during these times.

What can you do?

Let your neighbors know you are there for them! You can download and print this PDF and share it with them. If you want an editable version or want ENP to help you create one email gabrielle@everyneighborhood.org.

Thanks, Neighborhood Church for sharing your design.

Pray for Fresno & Clovis

Serve Fresno Website

This is an ongoing site where you can look over a variety of service projects going on all over town throughout the week.  We’ll do our best to keep this updated as some may need to cancel due to the nature of the population that is served. See the options here. Two options worth highlighting!

Habitat for Humanity

This partner organization has a link to their service opportunities. Volunteer Hub (www.habitatfresno.volunteerhub.com) or contact them at volunteers@habitatfresno.org or 559-237-4102 ext. 115.

Syrian Literacy Program

Reading with kids from 3-6pm on Mon/Tue/Wed. It’s near Fresno State in the El Dorado Park neighborhood. They can’t use too many volunteers so first come, first served. Email  1christinebarker@gmail.com or jacalynholmes@gmail.com

Wise Old Owl Reading Program

Reading to kids from 3-4:30pm on Monday and Wednesdays. Email Esther@lowellcdc.org. Esther can also use some helpers with filing, collating, data entry for her Community Development Corporation as well.

SW Fresno Community Garden

  • Dates Available: Prefer Tuesday and/or Thursday. Open to Monday, Wednesday, Friday if needed.
  • Times: 9am-12am (at least a 2 hour commitment).
  • Project: The Yosemite Village Permaculture Garden and Urban Farm (YoVille) is an educational garden and small farm training site located in South West Fresno. The goal of the garden is to develop a model for a community-based food system by encouraging community members to grow their own food, increasing access to fresh fruits and vegetables, and improving community skills. (see brochure)
  • Tasks they would be doing: Preparing community garden planting areas (weeding, mulching, connecting drip irrigation), planting plants and leading volunteers during large volunteer days (I have attached some pictures on what that would look like)
